VFX & Games Industry 2026 Workshop in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Real-World Insights into the Creative Industry

28/03/202610 views

On March 28th, both Lumina Academy campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City became vibrant gathering points for more than 100 young artists and industry professionals during the “VFX & Games Industry 2026” workshop.

Rather than focusing solely on theoretical knowledge, the workshop was designed as a practical learning experience where participants could gain direct insights into the recruitment landscape and production expectations of the modern game and VFX industry.

At the Ho Chi Minh City campus, Hoàng Anh Vũ and Đặng Quốc Anh shared valuable perspectives on the 3D industry, career development opportunities, and growth pathways for aspiring artists.

One of the most impactful sessions came from Trang Nguyễn, who provided an honest look into the hiring process within professional studios. Her insights into common portfolio mistakes, recruiter expectations, and the reasons why many portfolios are rejected within seconds gave attendees a clearer understanding of today’s competitive job market.

Meanwhile, at the Hanoi campus, Nguyễn Phúc Thành, Kiều Văn Trường, and Nguyễn Quốc Trọng inspired participants through real production case studies from major game and VFX projects. Their discussions highlighted professional workflows, creative problem-solving, and industry-level production standards.

A major highlight of the event was the Live Portfolio Review session. During this segment, speakers reviewed students’ portfolios and showreels live on stage, pointing out issues related to topology, lighting, composition, and visual storytelling. These direct critiques provided attendees with valuable guidance on how to improve their work and better prepare for professional opportunities.

Beyond technical knowledge, the workshop encouraged participants to rethink what it truly takes to succeed in the creative industry. Skills alone are no longer enough; professional mindset, adaptability, and a strong portfolio have become essential factors for entering the game and VFX industry.

Lumina Academy sincerely thanks all speakers and participants who contributed to making this workshop an inspiring and impactful event. We hope that after this experience, each attendee will feel more confident in refining their skills and building portfolios capable of reaching top studios in the future.
